MY CHRISTMAS PRESENT TO YOU & A CONTEST

I’ve been quiet on my blog lately.  Partly due to being so crazy busy at work and I’m totally exhausted when I get home.  But also, this Xmas will be 4 years since Bob died.  So, I’ve been in a funk.  When I came back from Florida, after spending almost a week with my loud, always-talking sisters, it emphasized my loneliness.  I feel like I haven’t moved on with my life since his death.  But, I’m not here to have you feel sorry for me.  Life is death.  Death is life.

What I want to do is give a Christmas present to all my followers/readers/friends.  It’s not much.  Just a free copy of one of my short stories, Nightmare Storm.  You can find it on Amazon for 99cents.

I know, I know.  The cover looks like crap, but I was so proud of it at the time.  LOL.  It’s on my to-do list for updating all the covers of my short stories.  It was originally titled Bear of a Storm, but I didn’t think it was catchy enough, so I changed it.  You be the judge.  After reading the story, let me know which title you prefer.  Here’s a Bookfunnel link to the free story.  You can download it for whichever device you use.  http://dl.bookfunnel.com/w8924rz66s

Teddy Bear, Teddy, Toy, Bear, Cute, Brown

The story isn’t a Xmas tale but a dark fantasy about Teddy Bears.  Yes, Teddy Bears.  You know, the one you clung to when you were scared, or wept with when sad.  Well, these Teddy Bears ain’t that kind.  Muwhahaha. *rubbing my hands gleefully together*

Okay, time for my contest/giveaway.  I will be giving away four $25 Amazon Gift Cards on January 15, 2016, oops, I meant 2017.

You ought to know by now I like making you all work for your prize, so here are the rules. Just answer this simple question, What was the name of one of the neighbors?  There are three, so any of the three names will get you entered into the drawing.  Only one entry per person.  Good Luck!!

Get busy reading, and have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.    Merry Christmas, Christmas, Xmas

Happy New Year, New, Year, Celebration

  3. Mary Preston says:

    Lucille is another.

    • Sahara Foley says:

      Hi Mary,

YUp, Lucille is a correct name. We actually had a neighbor by that name when we lived in a house apartment. I incorporated her into my short story, Silent Night. Good Luck in the drawing.

  4. Deb Philippon says:

Mrs. Dosch was going to be my answer, too. I hope the New Year is bringing a lift to you.
I just managed to place my mother is a good nursing home, where she can get the 24/7 care she needs, and have finished closing up her apartment. Caring for her, and my father, for the past few years has been a 24 hour job, and now that I can step back, I find myself a bit rudderless and in need of something to engage with. Thank you for sharing your story and being an inspiration. May 2017 be kind to us all.

    • Sahara Foley says:

HI Deb, Caring for parents can be so draining on us. Thankfully, both of my parents didn’t require long care before they passed on. But Bob, well, he was a trial, but didn’t really get bad until the last month of his life. And I totally get the feeling of rudderlessness. It’s so hard to pick up the pieces and start living again when your life has been nothing but taking care of other people. Here’s hoping 2017 will be better for you and yours. Thank you for reading my story, and I’m glad you enjoyed it. You are entered into the contest. Good Luck.

  5. Layla says:

One of the neighbors is Mr Krebs.

  6. Zulma Gilbert says:

    Thank you!

  7. Elizabeth H. says:

Mr. Krebs. I’m sorry to hear your are feeling lonely during the holiday season. A friend of mine’s dad passed away about 2 month ago and my friend lives in a different state than her mother and couldn’t make it out on Christmas or New Years, so she got on facebook and asked all of her friends to send her mother Christmas cards so she wouldn’t feel so alone. I know it’s not much, but if you ever want someone to talk to or write to, just let me know, I’ll be here. Well, not here here since I’m not a computer program that’s in my computer, but you know what I mean. 🙂

  8. Jerry Marquardt says:

I like the neighbor Mr. Krebs the most of the neighbors.
