#SaharasMusings – An Honest Man

If you follow my blog, you know that I’ve really, really gotten addicted to crystals.  🤣😂  I’ve been buying them from a live feed on TikTok from HM_Aurora_Crystals.  Anna has the highest quality crystals for a live stream, at least in my opinion.

Anyway, over the past several months, I’ve been receiving orders that I just knew weren’t mine.  Then one day, I received the below crystal.

This is a Black Rutilated Quartz Sphere and as soon as I opened the package I knew it wasn’t mine.  Yep, I got the wrong order, again.  This time I knew who it belonged to as I was on the channel at the same time as the person who bought it.  In fact, we’re in the same crystal group together.

Oh, I wanted to keep it as it’s a $1,200 item.  In case you don’t know, Black Rutile is a clear quartz with black tourmaline inside.  The clearer the sphere, the more distinct the ‘twigs’ inside, the higher quality the crystal.  So, yeah, this was a prize and a half.

However, I couldn’t keep it.  How could I?

I make unboxing videos of all my crystals, which you can see on my TikTok or YouTube channels.  So, I was able to go back and we determined that I had 4 other orders that were hers.  The person at HMSCrystals who caused the mix ups is now gone, so hopefully, this won’t happen again.

Still, it got me wondering.  How many people would’ve kept it?

In the USA, if you receive goods you didn’t order, you don’t need to return them as the mistake is on the company who sent them.  But I just couldn’t do it.  Well, at least I got to hold it for a while.  🤣😂

6: respectable; having a good reputation: an honest name.

Diogenes was known for walking during the day with his lantern, searching for an honest man.  I wonder what he’d find today?  I don’t think too many.

I’m sure, by now, most of you have heard of the shoplifting sprees in California, Oregon, and now even Chicago.  It’s gotten so bad, that retailers are pulling out of some parts of the states. And it’s not just the big box stores these despicable shoplifters are targeting, but the Mom & Pop stores that are barely hanging on.

Of course, a lot of these looters aren’t from the cities being invaded.  No, they’re coming from all over because they can get away with it.  They even have CCTV footage of looters laughing into the cameras.

What is wrong wit our society?  Why is there such a moral decay?

Yes, we all lie.  That’s just being human.  But remember the Golden Rule in the Gospel of Matthew (7:12): “In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you. . . .”

So, if you’re okay with stealing, then expect people to steal from you.  You reap what you sow.

For me, if I find a 20 dollar bill on the floor, or the street, and I see that someone had dropped it, I’ll give it to the person it actually belongs too.  And, I’ll sleep better that night. How about you?
