March 2022 Free eBooks – 1st to 15th

Starloop | How to Deal With 3 Star Reviews in Google.

As I stated in my last Free eBooks post, I wanted to list books with less than a 4 star rating.  Sometimes they might be hidden jewels.  So be warned.  The books below all have under 4 star reviews.

And I  still stuck with my other criteria that the books have to be at least 100 pages long.  Not an easy feat as most free books are just short stories.  Amazon didn’t help any by not wanting to show me badly rated ebooks, either.  LOL.  If you give any of these books a try, let me know if you liked them.  Enjoy.

ABOUT CHRISTINE:

I am a full-time essential services worker and mom of two primary school-aged children. My kids enjoy choosing books from the school library and I’m always genuinely impressed with the messages of acceptance and kindness in the stories they select for us to read together. During the pandemic, we had to get creative to keep our home an exciting and positive space that we all wanted to spend a lot of time at! Our entire family loves animals, so we decided to foster a litter of kittens over the Christmas Holidays. They brought so much joy into our lives, that we planned to continue to foster animals as much as possible! Then we saw Teddy. Teddy just belonged with our family and we knew it the moment we met him. Since that day, he has made our family feel complete. His uniqueness and character have inspired a series of stories that we hope to share with other avid child readers that love animals!

New Release: The Invisible Woman by Hezekiah Morris

Passionate Suspense by Award-Winning Author, Hezekiah Morris

Available in e-book format and soon paperback worldwide!!

Book Description:

Two years had gone by since Morris Clarkson last stepped foot into Freewater. While the town remained the same. Still from the shops and parks to the residential areas, everything felt like a ghost of what was once there—where Morris found himself lured into a salacious and secretive relationship with a tempting and fierce beauty, Delilah Fowler. Even now, the thought of that burning desire and love for that woman was the main reason he returned to Freewater.

Of course, that woman wasn’t here in Freewater anymore. She was murdered in her own loft, and despite how crazy Morris sounded to his friends, he moved right into that same loft. Whether it was lovesickness wearing him down, or just the need to relive that fantasy, Morris didn’t care about the odd rumors about a ghost dwelling in the loft. Until it turns out the rumors were try. Morris encounters the ghost of a woman on the same day he moved in; a woman who looked, talked and moved like Delilah.

Caught up in passionate and lustful memories of the past, and the vivid yet carnal dreams plagued by the spirit of Delilah, Morris wants nothing more than to embrace that deathlike whispering calling him to the edge. Regardless of his attempts to fight back, and knowing something is wrong, despite feeling so right, about the ghost in this game of seduction, Morris has a choice to make. Either move on or embrace the inevitable. Even if it meant that Delilah might snatch more than his body in the end.

How long can Holly keep her secrets?

Avid competitive rower Holly is seventeen. There is nothing she wishes for more than to compete in the Olympics. When she fails to make the rowing team that is going to Europe she is shattered. Her dream has exploded, and she is left dealing with the disappointment. She is also confronting a new reality at home: she and her mother have moved in with her mother’s annoying new boyfriend, Super Stew, and his two sons.

This move is a blow to the close relationship Holly thought she had with her mother.

Holly’s not a quitter. She lands a summer job, and then she is handed an unexpected lifeline in the person of a man who offers to coach her in a single rowing boat. For a girl raised without a father, the coach’s generosity – and rigorous demands – are a gift. But where did he come from and who is he, really? Discovering the answer plunges her into sadness – but then he inspires her to work beyond her comfort zone. Holly feels her mother won’t support her so she secretly trains. And when Holly starts seeing someone from work who could become a significant romantic partner, she hides that from her mother as well. How long can you keep secrets like this? February 2022 Free eBooks – 16th to 28th

Royalty-free Book Clip Art - Reading Book Clipart No Background, HD Png Download - kindpng

When I select the free books for my bi-monthly posts, I have several criteria that must be met.  First, the books have to 100 pages or over.  There are tons of free short stories.  I don’t want to use them.  Second, they must have a 4 star or above rating.  And three, they have to only have 200 or below ratings.  I do this to help unknown authors get discovered.  Not sure if it’s helped, but it makes me feel good.  🙂

However, for March I was thinking of switching my choices.  They still have to met 1 & 3 but maybe go for books with 3 and below ratings.  I know some stores are hidden gems that received bad reviews because they got trolled or just the wrong readers got their hands on them  Case in point, my short stories In Memory of Michelle and The Keeper of the Unicorns. So, let me know what you think.  Have a wonderful end to February.

New Release: Tom’s Revenge by James Edward Webb

An impressive Western debut by career cowboy James Webb

Released and published by Tuscany Bay Books.  The book is available worldwide in print and e-format.

HIDDEN IN PLAIN SITE

Tom Dufran was on the trail of one of the most malicious men to roam the west, with only the image on an old wanted poster to go on. The trail not only led him to Belle Fourche in the Dakota Territory, but also to cross paths with someone from his past. Aubrey Walters was only in town to purchase a herd of cattle, not to run into the man she thought had perished years ago. Now the memories and feelings of the past were flooding back in.

Did he feel the same way about her?

Would she be able to find out?

While that was unforeseen, giving countenance to the man to board the train was even more startling. A gross oversight that would allow him to fix the past.

Would he be able to rectify it in time?

About James:

James Edward Webb was born in 1981 and grew up on ranches around the western United States. With his fathers employment as a cowboy, James developed a lifelong fascination with the Old West. The charm of the rugged sophistication in the lives of those who lived in the westward expansion, was driven further with several experiences. Aside from growing up on the ranches where his father found employment, he had a chance to explore some of the remnants of that history. When James was 19 he joined the Army. In 2001 he married his wife, Tera, 2003 was deployed to Iraq, and in 2007,  after his separation from the military, they moved to Michigan where they have been raising their three children. He attended college and received a degree in art. He finds that writing is good therapy for his PTSD. In Tom’s Revenge he uses his love for the Old West to bring a deeper understanding of this disorder by expressing what he, as a veteran, deals with internally and externally. Other therapies that he uses are art and cooking with his wife, creating and trying new foods. From cover to cover Tom’s Revenge is his first published work including the cover art.
