About five months ago, a young cat started showing up while I was sitting outside. It took several weeks, but she finally came up to me. She was very friendly, and I surmised that she was either lost or someone had dumped her when they moved out of the apartment complex Sadly to say, it was most likely the latter.
Anyway, she allowed me to pet her while she ate outside. Then one really cold rainy evening, she just came right into my apartment. I was like, Okay, come in. By that point I decided to name her Molly. Well, now that she’s gotten bigger and has spent more time around me, I realize she’s a he. LOL. Meet Marco.
When I tried bringing in another cat last year, as her human had died, Sam and Cleo would have none of it. But, strangely, they seem to tolerate Marco. Oh, their noses are out of joint and Sam feels like he’s being replaced, but they’ve been fairly calm about it. Marco is a younger version of Sam and he will be an outdoor cat most of the time. He doesn’t like being locked inside. So, we shall see what happens when the temperature drop below zero.

I’ve been a gamer for years, with my own Let’s Play YouTube channel. It doesn’t get much traffic but it’s slowly growing. My favorite type of games are fantasy RPG (role playing) games. Though, I’ve also found that I really enjoy the sci-fi shooter games like Mass Effect.
Two years ago, I discovered and played Dragon Age Origins. I fell in love with the Dragon Age world and went on to play Dragon Age II and Dragon Age Inquisition. These are all games made by Bioware and I came into them way after they were initially released. So, when I heard there was going to be a new Dragon Age game called Dragon Age Dreadwofl, later renamed Dragon Age The Veilguard, I couldn’t wait for it to release. Since I was a late comer to the series, I didn’t have long to wait. But it seemed to take forever.
Then, it dropped on Halloween of 2024. And, boy did it get some really bad press. Let me explain.
The original developers of the Dragon Age series, from years ago, had mostly left Bioware and they were replaced with woke DEI hires. So, the whole theme of the story, the look of the game, and shoving the woke agenda down the players throat went into overdrive.
Of course, wokism has been slowly creeping into computer games for years. Even Balder’s Gate 3 has it. But if it’s done tastefully, players don’t really care. I mean, a gamer can have a M/M or F/F romance with whomever they want. And most players have supported that for decades. I see a lot of male gamers play as a female and, personally, I think they like the whole fantasy of female on female sex. 😂🤣
However, we’re talking FANTASY games, here. That means, just like in a book, it’s a made-up world where players want to escape. Not be reminded of the world or political problems. We want to relax and have a good time.
But, nope, that’s not what the woke culture wants. No, they want to indoctrinate us. Keep telling us that our point of view is wrong.
Case in point, while customizing your character in The Veilguard, you have a choice of gender, as usual, but also pronouns or even binary. And when it comes to body type, even as a female, you can add a ‘bulge’ to your character. WTH? Women don’t have bulges. Oh, but if you’re a man who’s transitioning to a female, you can. Nope, not having it.
And, also over the years, they’ve slowly turned women into looking like Plain Janes who look very mannish. Most men, after all, don’t have the cheek bones and chin like a woman. They also don’t have the same type of hips, butt, or breasts like a female. So, while you can add a ‘bulge’ to your character, you can’t give yourself big boobs or wide hips. Talk about discrimination against women. 😠😠
And the character they picked as the binary in The Veilguard, is a Quarian female. Now, you have to understand the whole world behind the Quarian’s. They took a badass race and turned them into pansies. No way would a Quarian ever, ever be binary. UGH.
But, it’s not just the whole male/female issue. No, then there’s the writing itself. Talk about weak.
The characters are all one-dimensional and you get talked to like you’re a child. When you get to a new area in the game, one of your characters will, right away, tell you exactly what you need to do there. I’m not a four-year old that needs to hold your hand while crossing the street. We do know how to think for ourselves. But, see? They don’t perceive us that way. Nope, we’re all too stupid to figure their game out.
I bought this game at full price, as a birthday present to myself, and now I can’t get a refund as I spent more then 2 hours playing it. I told Steam, like they really care, that it takes most players several hours just to customize their characters.
Now, this DEI team has moved on to Mass Effect 5, and everyone is thinking it will be just as woke. Since Bioware/EA hasn’t made any money on The Veilguard, as they shouldn’t, EA might outsource the IP to another developer. We can only hope.
Still, this is a major issue with players, and they don’t want to support these type of games. So, there are several websites that list the titles you might want to avoid. Here’s a list from The Woke Ranking.
If I’ve offended anyone with this post, too bad. I’m offended by your stupid woke culture. 🤣😂🤣😂
