When the Whispering Beckons, Should You Follow?

A Dark Fantasy Novelette

Jaded commander Wyvrir’s patrol route takes him and his elven commando to the very edge of Oad T’len, the ancient forest. A pact between the elves and humans allowed for the building of a monastery and vineyard there nearly a century before. Too close for Wyvrir’s liking, but he arranged a pact of his own with the monks, one unbroken.

Until now.

When he moves on the monastery to collect the debt of their defiance, he finds a very different menace lurking within its walls, one unlike anything he ever faced. Or ever imagined.

How deep within must Wyvrir reach to challenge the threat against his pact, his commando, and the tenuous peace between the elves and humans?

Featured Free eBook: Creep by Lou Yardley

Ooh, look! A strange vial of liquid! What happens if I drink it?

A tasty lil novella-sized nugget to introduce you to Venari.

Welcome to the monstrous world of Venari… try not to get eaten…

Angus Rutland has been to war and now it’s time to go back home. Battle has changed him and he knows that life is going to change for him in Red Fern too.

And he’s absolutely right.

It’s just not going to change in the way he has planned. Angus expected independence from his parents, a house and maybe a new career. Instead, he’s found himself up to his neck in monsters, treachery, and an invading army.

This novella is a deliciously dark fantasy set in Lou Yardley’s monstrous world of Venari. Dive right in for monsters and gore!

“Creep” is part of a small series that introduces the wonderful, if monstrous, world of Venari. The books can be read in any order, but there are little nuggets of fun that will be enjoyed if read chronologically.

Other Books In Series:

Banished (Venari Book 1) by [Lou Yardley]      Everfrost (Venari Book 2) by [Lou Yardley]

Funny Christmas Gifs For Facebook | Merry christmas minions, Merry christmas animation, Merry christmas gif

Is it really that time of the year? Already?  My part of the country has been in a bad drought for the past year and half.  The other day we finally saw some rain.  Yay to rain instead of the yucky snow.  But, without the snow, we’ll just have a worse drought next Spring.  We also need the freezing temps to kill off the bugs.  SIGH.  Can’t win for losing.  😂🤣   Anyway, I hope you enjoy this selection of books and have a safe and Merry Christmas.

My Book Review of One Christmas by Karen J Mossman

Description:

Who knew life could change so drastically from one heartbeat to the next. One second, you’re full of wonderous joy, the next …

The holidays are a festive time. For Tina and her family, Christmas is the most magical of all. The tastes, smells, laughter – even the complaints are a part of the traditions and vital to the memories. But one Christmas, tragedy struck and changed everything…

Will Tina be able to rediscover the magic, or has her joy been lost forever?

Share in the gifts of family and community in this emotional tale.

My Review:

I’ve read several books by Karen and she is a talented storyteller.  This one does not disappoint.  Having lost my husband on Christmas, I can relate to the heartache and grief that follows.  The dreading for the next Holiday as that special person is no longer there to share it with you.  Especially if you’re a family that loves the traditions of Christmas.

Tina is a very likeable character and we share her struggles as she tries to help her family come back to some form of normalcy.  But no matter how tragic life can get, it always moves on.  And new surprises help pave the way for new traditions.  If only you will let them.

This is a must read for people who love Christmas and family, and as a short story, it’s easy to read during the busiest time of the year.  I give it 5 stars.

#SaharasMusings – Am I Dreaming?

See-you-in-your-dreams GIFs - Get the best GIF on GIPHY

Are you a dreamer?  Do you remember your dreams?  Yes, and Yes.  In fact I have dreams from years ago that feel like memories.  I have gaps in my childhood and adult memories, yet these damn dreams stick with me.  Yeah, I’m a bit strange.  Or, am I?

Lets jump into the Google rabbit hole of dreams.

Rabbit Hole GIFs | Tenor

One of the search results was most common dreams and reoccurring ones. You can find the results HERE.  Falling is the most common dream and 38% of people said that their reoccurring ones started in childhood.  I have to raise my hand for both.  Though I found having glass in ones mouth a bit odd.  Of course, only 1.1% of people have dreamt that.  Ouch!

Lucid Dreams GIFs | Tenor

How about those lucid dreams?  The ones where you know you’re dreaming but can’t wake up?  WebMD states that half of people may have had one lucid dream during their lifetime.  What?  Really?  Cuz I’ve had them back-to-back before.  🤔 They also claim that people who have lucid dreams are more self-reflective and are always in their head stewing over stuff.  Yup, that’s me.  I’ve also had dreams within a dream within a dream.  Not sure where that fits into their studies.  😹

Is Mutual Dreaming Possible?

Let’s go down the rabbit hole a bit more with Shared Dreams. This is when you’ve shared a dream with another person.  Bob and I used to do that.  But, it was more me initiating the process than him.  I’d wake up and ask if he had a dream about such and such, and he’d be like, Yep.  I always knew when a dream I had was actually mine or one of his.  His dreams had a different element to them.  So cool and so weird.  Also, not a common ability and one that researchers in the USA scoff at.  Whatever.  I know what I know.

Dreaming Of Levitation - Symbols Of Enlightenment & Happiness

Now, we’ve hit the bottom of that damn rabbit hole.  Boom.  Levitating while dreaming.  I can see people rolling their eyes at that.  People can’t levitate.  Well, yeah, we can.  I only remember one time that I levitated.  I was in a half sleep and slowly rotating in the air.  I felt the sheets moving across my body and also heard them as they rustled on the bed.  When I mentioned it to Bob that I thought I’d levitated that night, he said it wasn’t the first time and he’d just gently push me back onto the bed.  What?  I had no idea.

At this point, I want to bring up that people who’ve experienced alien abductions also levitate during their sleep, but it’s not them doing it.  I’ve pondered this before as I’ve had other strange shit happen to me over the years.

Because I am a prolific dreamer and some are so crazy, I started sleeping with Dream Amethyst Chips in my pillowcase to keep them a bit calmer.  They do seem to help, except during a full moon.  That’s another story.  LOL.  Do you dream?  Have you had any of the above mentioned ones?  Let me know in the comments.

Featured Book: Kaios in the Black Sea by Quell T. Fox

It is said revenge is for the weak…
I believe it is for the wicked.

Some allow pain to consume them while others thrive from it, enjoy it.
Neither of those are true for me.
For me, pain is like a slow burning ember. Hot yet contained. It could burn out at a moment’s notice or be the cause of something disastrous.
I will not allow my pain to control me. I will keep it inside until I need it most; until the impact will be most beneficial to me and the one I lost; the only person I ever truly cared about.
Until I saw her…
What was supposed to be revenge, turned into something much sweeter. Something unexpected.
How can I avenge the one I lost if it means hurting the one I now covet the most?

This book is a full length, stand-alone novel.
