Book review for Heart of Stone: Book 3 of Angel’s Guardian Series by Zeece Lugo
BLURB:
The fate of both the vampire nation and humanity are on the line as Maxim and Angel’s most dangerous enemy comes back fiercer than ever. Toma returns, and he’s battling for it all: vengeance, ultimate power, and love.
As horrific vampire mass killings spread over the globe, and humanity learns that vampires are real, Maxim Denisov, King of the Vampires, faces off with his nemesis, his twisted cousin Toma, in a final desperate battle to save all he loves. But the vampire attacks are only the beginning, a smokescreen to hide the real, apocalyptic destruction Toma means to unleash on humanity.
This is the 3rd book in a series you cannot miss! Thrilling action, sizzling romance, unexpected humor, and nail-biting suspense delivered by characters you’ll love.
This book is not suitable for younger readers. Some adults may object to scenes depicting sexual content or violence.
MY REVIEW:
We all know what sequels are like. Usually the first is the best and the rest are just trying to sucker us in for more money. Well, that’s not the case with the 3rd and final installment in the Angel’s Guardian Series.
The vampire nation is still reeling over Toma’s actions at the end of book two. He’s gone into hiding and Ivanna has turned into a recluse. And the human who loves her, Devian, has gone back to his mercenary wok. I loved Jonathan and Devian in the 2nd story, but Devian definitely turned into my favorite in this last one.
Oh, Toma, Toma, what were you thinking? Zeece really got into the heart and guts of Toma in this last book. We can understand who he is, but the choices he makes once again harm everyone he loves. Especially his beloved sister.
My heart went out for Ivanna and I cried over what she knew she had to do. She finally saw Toma for what he was and what their relationship meant to him. Two very scarred souls. And only one of them with redemption in sight.
As with the other two books, every character is well-rounded and relatable. The children were funny and adorable, and even one of the vampires in the wrong camp has you rooting for him. Sometimes loyalty comes at a very steep price.
There is so much about this story to love Action, drama, sizzling romance, and sorrow. It kept me turning the pages. If you’re tired of the same old vampire troupes and are yearning for something different to read, I highly recommend this book and series. I give it 10 stars. Well, Amazon only allows 5. LOL.
