WAR OF THE NEVER by C J Rutherford
BLURB:
This is the end of the end.
Tenybris is free from his prison, and the planet of Sanctuary is the first to face his hunger. His hunt for the dragon eggs begins. If he gains them, and the magic, everything will wish for death.
In the Glade, Evil has shown its face at last. Gwenyth, the only human in the Lands, stands no chance against the power of the Darkness. How can she save the race she has come to love?
With the fall of the Veil, the magic escapes to flood the universe, and the first stop is Earth. What can Katheryne and the others do to save her world and the rest of reality?
Is this the end?
War of the Never is the last book in the Tales of the Neverwar trilogy, a young adult adventure with ancient dragon battles, faerie magic, combined with alternate universe science fiction.
MY REVIEW:
This is the final installment in this epic space and time odyssey. Olume’s plans were long-sighted and spanned many dimensions, but his ultimate goal was to save his friend Tembris from the clutches of Darkness, and kill Darkness once and for all. But how can you kill something without a soul?
Most of the characters come back from the previous books, and we’re introduced to a few new ones from Earth. Heather, and her son, Alex, during an airplane trip, find themselves in the land of myths of legends, with unicorns, fairies, dragons, and it’s up to them to help save the Universe from Darkness. As all the pieces fall into place, Rutherford ties in some of our Earth changing events, like the extinction of Dinosaurs, into his story line. This book is full of action, drama, and death, and will keep you turning the pages. The characters were, once again, well-rounded and defined.
My main complaint is the over usage of crooked grins or smiles, and all the crying. But, I have to admit, I shed my own tears at the end.
A solid four star series and I highly recommend the Never books for all ages. I give it 4 feathers.
