CAMPING.
Our family grew up as campers. We tented two weeks each summer. We’d come home long enough for Mom to do some laundry and out the door we went. As kids, we loved it. Back in the 60’s and 70’s, there weren’t many people going camping, so we usually had the sites to ourselves. We actually meet one of Laura Ingalls Wilder relatives one year. That was so cool.
My Mom and Dad camped every year almost up to the time he just couldn’t anymore. He died and then Mom started going with my brother. After she passed away, we decided to start a yearly camping trip in September to honor them. So, that’s what I’ll be doing this weekend.
The two pictures above are from some of the annual gatherings. We look like tent city LOL. Anyway, until next time. Have a wonderful rest of September.
