#Crystals101 – February Birthstone Crystal

February is pretty straight forward and is an actual crystal and not just a jewel.  Well, you can buy jewelry made from Amethyst.  And, for someone who claimed I really didn’t care much for it, I have a lot of Amethyst in my collection.  🤣  In my defense, though, most people LOVE Amethyst.

So, if you were born in February, you need to wear Amethyst.  Here’s why:

Because of it’s wine-like color, the Greeks associated it with Bacchus, the god of wine.  And the name, Amethyst, is derived from the Greek amethystos, which means “a remedy against drunkenness.”  So, party-hardy on your next birthday.

Are you preparing to go into battle or have a business deal to take control of?  Amethyst is believed to keep you clear-headed and quick-witted.

Do you want to celebrate your 6th wedding anniversary?  Amethyst is the stone, and you’ll be in royal company as Catherine the Great loved the crystal and decked herself with Amethyst necklaces, earrings, and other ornaments.  She also wore a lavish Cartier-designed Amethyst bib necklace to a gala in Versailles in 1953.  GOREGEOUS!

The Duchess of Windsor’s amethyst necklace boasts the February birthstone with 28 step-cut amethysts, a large heart-shaped amethyst, turquoise cabochons, and diamonds supported by a gold chain.

So, wearing your February birthstone of Amethyst, can help with personal empowerment and inner strength.  HAPPY BRITHDAY to everyone born in February.
