Excerpt

The smell of blood was overpowering. His heart sank. He pushed the door to the yard open, Lana was lying motionless against the wall. There was no colour in her beautiful face. A man’s body with neck injuries near her feet, a bloodied machete to his left. Tears pricked his eyes. No, not like this. He bent down next to her. Her eyes fluttered open and closed again. Thank God! He lifted her up into his arms and whispered, “You’re going to be okay.”

Lana didn’t respond, but she didn’t stop breathing either. He still had time.

Bio

DM’s passion is short stories and hopes to write at least three a year. This year she is releasing a collection of them in a book called, A Sea of Monster & Other Tales. Known for her Dark fiction, DM does have a softer side, and on occasion will write drama coupled with a touch of romance.

Apart from her love of horror, tattoos and holidaying in the sun she is an animal lover. Unfortunately, now because of her job she can’t have any pets. DM works away from home on the oil rigs for three weeks at a time and enjoys the challenges being in the North Sea brigs.
