#SaharasMusings – I Lost A Sister Yesterday

How Cults Made America | The New Yorker

I lost my sister yesterday.

Not to the Grim Reaper, which is a normal process of the Life and Death cycle.

No, I lost my sister yesterday to the crazy, crackpot leftist culture.  The Karen’s who wail and wring their hands on Instagram and TikTok about their victimhood. How anyone who doesn’t agree with them are racists and evil.

It surprised me a bit as I thought she was stronger willed.  But, deep inside, I knew she wasn’t.

Still, it’s hard for me to reconcile the person she’s become to the person that went on “sister” trips with my other sister and me.  The one who helped me pick out Cleo and Sammie from the Humane Society. The person that would take me shopping for flowers.  Sure, we had our discussions about politics, but we knew where each other stood.  The problem was, even back then, she was trying to ‘convert’ me, not just expressing her opinions and beliefs.

When did the symptoms appear?  To be honest, my sister has always been the bossy one, the one who talked the loudest, and the most, at every chance she could.  She was always the most informed, or so she thought.  Her life, and her friends, were more important than anyone else’s.  We forgave her that, as it only showed a person with no self-worth and no self-confidence.

A perfect playground for the evil worm of indoctrination to form, infiltrate, and spread. For, only the weak-willed can be turned into a cultist.

Back in the day, before the internet, families would do an intervention.  They’d hire someone to kidnap their child out of a cultist camp, and then spend days or weeks trying to undo the manipulation and indoctrination . Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t.  As I said, people with no self-wroth and weak-willed will just fall for another gimmick. Another leader to fill that hallow void in their souls.

But now, we have TikTok.  A platform run and controlled by the Chinese government.  She’d forward video after video to me with Karen’s lamenting the end of the world.  The end of our democracy because Trump is ‘Hilter’ and will run amok as a dictator.  So laughable, but I couldn’t convince her everything she was watching was misinformation, propaganda.

And, of course, the Chines government loves it.  This is why TikTok is so harmful to our country.  China uses their algorithms to manipulate and subvert American’s minds.  They’ve sown the seeds of discontent, the anti-USA government agenda, that anything Pro America is bad and evil.

It’s not just TikTok though,  The same propaganda is being spewed by our mainstream media and social platforms.  They’ve been caught being paid by the Biden administration to do exactly that.

So, how do we stop it?  We can’t.

I tried explaining to my sister that blood is stronger then politics.  That the rest of our family doesn’t care what she believes.  Because, WE believe in freedom of speech and thoughts.

But, no, that wasn’t enough for her.  She got enraged that we held BLOOD over the suffering of all the illegal immigrants, all the women who lost their rights under Trump, yada, yada.  That proved to her how vile and evil the rest of our 95% family is.  That we are all racists, bigots, you know, every name in the book that leftist use against people who don’t believe the way they want them too.

This saddens me greatly, as she just spat in the face of our mom and dad who held family bonds very tightly.  It’s like she totally forgot who are family was.  Everything we did together as a family.

How do I know that she’s in a cult and not me?  As she has claimed over and over.

Because she said she was tried of trying to ‘change’ us to her way of thinking.  So, it was time for her to become ‘dead’ to the rest of her family who held different views.  See, this is exactly what a cult does.  It divides and causes descension.

I lost a sister yesterday, but life does go on.  I saw my first robin of the year and heard a turtle dove cooing.  I just won’t be sharing it with her anymore.

I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with this. Our differences should keep us stronger by preventing us from being stagnant. However, when you stiffle an opposing views, the communication ends and you really do die.
Praying for you and your family!
